Close to the Turntable - Last Few Weeks

It's been hot lately and we've been running fans in the house and the ambient noise of fans is not the best for music listening. But we do have a selection of new music that we'd like to share with you. Greg has thoughtfully provided some commentary.

• Jefferson Airplane -- Surrealistic Pillow (Mono LP): "Jefferson Airplane as it should be listened to."
• Dark Was the Night: A Red Hot Compilation (3 LP) -- "great tracks by diverse non-commercial radio artists." The album benefits the intl. Red Hot Org raising awareness and funds for HIV and AIDS.
• Björk -- Vespertine (SACD): "pretty mellow, comfortable to listen to on a rainy day."
• Sigur Rós -- () (CD): "can't get enough Sigur Rós."
• Iron and Wine -- Around the World (3 LP): Collection of b-sides and previously unreleased tracks. "I really like it. If you haven't discovered Iron and Wine yet I highly recommend it."
