We have a little branch bolted to the deck rail for the chickadees to land on. They like to have a branch to hold on to rather than a flat deck rail I presume. They hop down, grab a sunflower seed and then fly off into the trees. I was sitting only two feet away and it wasn't only the chickadees that were not nervous of my presence. I did try to get pictures of the other birds, but I was also visited by nuthatches, juncos and redpolls.
